Francetabs.com is a french website dedicated to french guitar tabs and chords. Our aim is to promote french music.

What is a tablature?
A tablature is a simple and the most common method of notation for string instruments. Instead of using symbols like in standard musical notation, it uses ordinary ASCII characters and numbers, making it ideal for places like the internet. A tablature usually indicates a tone with notation referring to the finger and string used to create it. It may also have a letter next to the indicated fret number, this usually means 'how to play that note'.

You need a member account! All the needed options will be available from there.

How can i claim a guitar tab contribution?
If you think someone submitted a file you've tabbed, you can claim the authorship of the contribution by clicking the "is it your contribution?" link below this tab. If we think that's true the tab will be linked to your profile and you'll get 10 points.

How can i edit a tablature?
You can't.
Because a tab has to be validated berfore being publicated on the website, it should be correct. However if you really think there is a problem with a tab you can report it to us by cliquing the "report bad tab" link available at the bottom of the tab. Otherwise please just add a comment to inform other guitarists about your remarks.

How can I submit guitar pro files?
You can't. We find guitar pro files too much accurate to be your own interpretation of a song. As we do not seek to violate copyrights, those kind of files are strictly prohibited on francetabs.com.

How can I edit a guitar lesson ?
Only the author of a guitar lesson can edit it. An "edit guitar lesson" option is available at the top of the lesson when you're the author and logged in.

What's the member championship ?
It's a system we put in place to encourage members to add guitar tabs and ressources while guaranteeing a minimum of accuracy at the same time.

Nothing, it's just for fun.

How can i get member points?
Getting points is very simple, you'll get:
- 1 point for rating a fresh guitar tab,
- 1 point for adding a video link from youtube or dailymotion,
- 2 points for adding some missing biography links,
- 2 points or adding a missing album cover,
- 3 points for submitting a tab rhythm,
- 5 points for submitting a new guitar tab,
- 5 more points each time one of your tab is validated as accurate by other members!
- 15 points for submitting a guitar lesson,

And... you'll loss 3 points each time one of your tab is rated as innaccurate by other members
